About Jack

Jack Lydon is a recent college graduate with a passion for sports media and production. With a degree in Journalism from Hofstra University, Jack has honed his skills in storytelling, multimedia production, and live event coverage. His academic journey included hands-on experience in video editing, content creation, and sports journalism, allowing him to develop a comprehensive understanding of the sports media landscape.

At Hofstra University, Jack got extensive experience in radio production and broadcasting at the #1 ranked college radio station in the United States. He was also a part of the school’s award-winning television station, where he got experience working on all parts of a sports-talk show.

Away from Hofstra, Jack had multiple internship opportunities, most notably as a Public Relations Intern with the NHL’s New York Islanders in 2023-24. With the Islanders, Jack got invaluable experience working on Press Row as an integral part of the game day media relations team, frequently communicating with team officials, players, coaches, and writers, while accommodating traveling staff from the opposing team.

Jack is currently freelancing play-by-play and production for several colleges and universities in the Northeast. He is seeking permanent work in sports broadcasting, production, or media relations.
